The Best 50 Minute Soup and Sandwich Ever
Usually I don't mind if service is a bit slow, I can understand that it might take a bit to make fresh fries or a burger, but to wait 50 minutes for a bowl of soup (already sitting out on the buffet table), and a tuna salad sandwich is just a bit much. I get an hour for lunch, so that left me 10 minutes to eat, pay, and get back to work. The odd part is that we had the fastest waitress today, so it wasn't her fault, it must have been something in the back, or else they made me wait for Josh's order (burger and fries, which also should not take 50 minutes to make). We figured it was because we sat in the back, you get better service if you sit up front, but there was no room in the inn. It won't stop me from eating there (sorry Spoke), I really like the food and the people, but it is frustrating at times. And no, I don't think it is because i'm not a "beard", there were some of them there and they had to wait almost as long as I did, I watched to make sure, there were actually some non-beards who came in after them, sat down, got their food, and left, so i think your theory is a bit flawed, at least today it was. lol

I had a (Mennonite) sausage burger there once with a generous portion of fries...tasty. I would occasionally go there when I had meetings in the past, but the buffet was a let down. I found the meats tepid and the veggies tasted like fresh air. I honestly don't know why it survives. To each his own I guess, I like Cantonese style pork stomach and tripe for instance. A guy in three hills prepares it for me if I call him a few days in advance...fresh is best, with garlic, chilies and black bean sauce.
