I dislike 8th Ave. in downtown Calgary very much!!
So this last weekend, January 7th and 8th, my best mate Andy and his lovely wife Amy had their wedding reception at the Davonian (spelling?) gardens on 8th ave, AND, as a result everyone who wanted to stay at the Paliser Fairmont Hotel got a great rate on rooms. This was fantastic, the reception was brilliant the food was amazing and everything went well. The Hotel was awesome, I had a huge room all to myself, I spread all my belonging around the room, piled 13 pillows on the bed and watched football during the afternoon, it was great.
So where is the horrible catch in all this fun, well here it comes... wait for it....
Sunday morning rolls around, everyone met for brunch and hangin out and stuff and it comes time to leave. I go get my stuff, mom and dad are about 5 minutes ahead of me and are waiting in the parking lot, they parked beside my jeep. My dad Mikes me on my phone and wonders where I am, I say i'm on my way, and he says "It looks like someone tried to get in your jeep".... crap. I had actually thought about that very thing happening, but I didn't think it actually would. You see, I still have my soft top on my jeep, and i have had bad luck with convertible vehicles, people get jelous or something cause they always want to knife MY vehicles. So anywho, i get to my jeep and there is a nice hole in the driver side rear window, it has a smooth knife cut up the edge of the window part, and then a jagged cut back down across the plastic window, nothing was taken, nothing else damaged. I mean, all they would have had to do was unzip the side and take off the velcro and they are in the jeep. Very annoying. So I drove to Wal-Mart, bought some duct tape and put er back together, duct tape cures all.
I'm putting my hard top back on.... (although spring is just around the corner)
